Voice/Wireless Applications
By Mark Long -- e-inSITE, 1/28/2002
HelloSoft has released ExpressDSP-compliant voice and wireless
communications components for the company's HelloVoice,
HelloWireless, and HelloWLAN product lines. Targeted at
next-generation VoIP Gateway, IP Phone, GPRS PDA/Handset and WLAN
Adaptor/Access Point applications, the components are based on Texas
Instruments' TMS320C5000 and TMS320C6000 DSP platforms.
"Designers developing on TI's power-efficient C5000 DSPs and the
highest-performance C6000 DSPs can benefit from HelloSoft's newly
announced ExpressDSP-compliant algorithms," said TI's ExpressDSP
platform manager John Schanzenbach in a prepared statement. "By
using Hellosoft's ExpressDSP-compliant algorithms in their design,
product developers will have an edge over their competition by
incorporating tested and approved code allowing them to get to
market as quickly as possible ahead of the competition."
HelloVoice is a voice-over-packet communication offering for
low-end IP phones, mid-range customer premise equipment (CPE), and
high-end gateways. The technology includes VoIP codecs, as well as
telephony and networking protocols.

Integrating both the Physical Layer and networking protocols,
HelloWireless is a wireless data offering for 2.5G/3G mobile,
EDGE/GPRS/WCDMA (UMTS) GSM network applications.

Designed for integration with commercially available RF product
lines, the company's HelloWLAN release is an optimized
implementation of the IEEE 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g standards
that integrates both the Physical layer and the MAC layer, as well
as QoS and security functionalities.
